Tri-State Elevator was founded by our grandfather, George L Nyborg Sr. in 1936. George started working with Otis elevator. His accomplishments include the installation of the elevator at the top of the Empire State Building! A naturally gifted mechanic, George, went out on his own and formed Nyborg Construction Company. Nyborg Construction installed 100's of elevators from Buffalo to NYC and many cities in between. George L Nyborg Jr., our father, joined the business in 1956 and is still active today. George Jr. has earned a reputation in the industry as a tough and knowledgeable expert.

Over the many decades of serving the most discerning clients in and around NYC, our focus has not wavered: providing high quality, value priced and reliable service. Today, we still vigorously pursue these values and instill them in all of our technicians. Customer satisfaction is the cornerstone to our business model. We are continually adding value to our services for the benefit of our clients. Our approach is well received by our technicians who on average have been with us for 15 years or more. We are concerned with their safety and the public's safety when riding on our elevators. We continually invest in the training and education of our technicians, often sending them to seminars around the country to learn from the best in the industry. We work only with the best vendors in the industry. In fact, our workmanship was highlighted at the World Elevator Expo in Boston, for all the elevator industry to see. Our high standards continue to raise the bar for the whole industry.
